Kidman is a family run, dryland farming operation located close to the major regional centre of Dubbo,
in the Central West Slopes and Plains of NSW.
Our aim is to produce a solid line of quality bulls, targeted at all levels of commercial cattle production.
We strive to maintain a high performing, efficient, functional and practical breeding herd without sacrificing structure, type and ease of handling. We feel our end product reflects our continued dedication and investment into our program and will endevour to advance our stud’s reputation and our client's bottom line.
Our Annual Bull Sale has defined our program, and plays a pivotal role in our ongoing selection and management criteria. The sale, now in it's 23rd year, is our key annual event, and is the culmination of the previous thirty years of investment in genetics. Kidman is proud to present the bulls on sale day. The bulls are the quality results of our labour, and we confidently recommend them to our prospective clients and to the whole of the beef industry.
Kidman Poll Hereford Stud was founded in 1986 by Nelson and Randall Carlow. They named the stud after Sir Sidney Kidman, The Cattle King. The Carlow brothers were admirers of Sir Kidman, who built a cattle empire from very humble beginnings, proving just what can be achieved with the right mix of dedication and ambition.
The Kidman cattle have had tremendous success in the show ring over a long period, but it's the quality advice & commercial attributes in their cattle that set them apart. The weight for age, structure, doability and fertility in their program, are the profit drivers for the beef producer and the Carlows have nailed them in both breeds.
